Before you hire a person or company to refinish your bathtub be sure you ask some important questions. If your only concern is the price, you are at great risk of getting a poor quality and unprofessional company. You may end up hiring a tub refinisher who is uninsured, untrained, and unwilling to answer your call after you have paid him. Therefore, be sure to ask the following questions when price shopping.
What is included in the price?
Be sure you understand what is included or not included in the price. Will they caulk the tub? Will they add the non-slip bottom to avoid slip and falls. Be sure you know what your getting. Many companies will offer a low price to get you hooked than try to add many additional services to the tab. At Ace Refinishers we include as standard what many companies try to upsell you on. Our $350.00 tub refinishing includes, caulking the tub and non-slip bottom.
Whats included in warranty?
Be sure to get the details of the warranty and what it covers or doesn’t cover. How long is it, what’s covered and what isn’t? What charges if any are involved with any warranty work?
Do they carry Liability or Workers compensation insurance?
Make sure they have liability insurance and workers compensation. The way to confirm this is by asking them for a certificate of insurance. The proper way to receive the certificate is directly from the insurance agent or office. The insurance agent will fax or mail you a copy of the certificate. This ensures that the insurance is active. Do not accept a certificate directly from them. If a worker is injured while at your house and they do not carry insurance your home owners insurance may be the sole source of coverage and where home owners does not cover you may personally be liable. What is the Finish?
Epoxies paints are old school, and yellow and discolor over time and do not have the durability and longevity of polyurethanes. At Ace Refinishers we using only the best polyurethane coating. For additional details regarding our finish see our FAQ’s page and read Epoxy Vs Urethane Coatings which is better?
